Founded in 2004, Broad St. Bullies™ has come to represent not only some of the finest quality “Blue” American Pitbull Terriers on the planet; but a mentality, a way of life, and a culture! Upon the inception of the Broad St. Bullies’™ organization, it quickly became our goal not only to create the finest quality “Blue Pitbulls”, but to create a movement based around the idea that “Survival is granted ONLY to the FITTEST.”

With origins in Philadelphia, a city of rigid character; there was only one name or phrase that could accurately communicate the character and style of “Blue Pitbulls” we set out to fashion, Broad St. Bullies! Rooted in a long history, this name or phrase has come to represent success through sheer tenacity. The phrase “broad street bullies” itself was originally coined during the Philadelphia Flyers 1972-73 season as a way of describing the Flyers tenacious style of play. Since then this phrase has been used by local athletic organizations, Hip Hop artists, and social organizations (i.e. Motorcycle Clubs) to inspire a sense of strength and will.

Given the Pit Bull’s rocky history and naturally resilient character, Broad St. Bullies™ was the perfect name to describe our brand of “blue pitbull”. We set out to create a “blue pitbull” whose survival isn’t based on his or her performance in the pit as a gladiator, but by highlighting the pit bull’s naturally favorable qualities it is our goal to create an animal “Fit” for survival in today’s modern arena. Inspired by the work of Dave Wilson (Razor’s Edge) and Richard Barrajas (Gottiline), this modern “blue pitbull” we set out to fashion acknowledges its past as a gladiator and pays tribute to it in form. With big, blocky heads and jaws, big bone, and massive muscles, Broad St. Bullies™ modern “blue pitbulls” express the strength and stability of their gladiatorial ancestry while selective breeding tactics have enhanced this modern “blue pitbulls” temperament towards tolerance towards other animals.
